Guided By Curiosity
“The world looks very different when you learn to see and experience it from your heart.
All things, including life itself, are important, incomplete and imperfect. Therefore, perfection is impossible, and imperfection is the natural state of everything, including ourselves.”
- Wabi Sabi by Beth Kempton
I picked up this book three years ago out of curiosity…well, that and its beautiful hardback cover at a small, cozy bookstore on George’s Street in Dublin. I didn’t think much of it at first, though the phrase “Wabi Sabi” had always intrigued me.
As I started reading, I was struck by how many people relate to its meaning, even though everyone describes it differently. To put it simply,
it’s about embracing the little things in life and appreciating our experiences as they are imperfect, yet enough to make us happy.
Wabi Sabi made me realise that this is what i was looking for. The word that best describe my thoughts and how I feel about appreciating nature, growth and evert encounter I have with people that I cherish most. I love capturing the beauty of nature and raw feelings of my subjects even though some artists may think they are not the beautiful or fit today’s standards.
It’s me Flo~
Hello everyone!
I created this website to collect my work and track my progress. I’m trying to let go of the idea of creating the “perfect” piece and instead embrace my imperfections and enjoy the process mistakes, experiments, and all. I hope you’ll follow me on this journey and see where it leads.
Thank you for reading this (very) long introduction!
